I haven’t had to build, stretch or prime a canvas in over a decade… and certainly never one this colossal. At 11’x6’ I’ve essentially built a wall made of canvas that just baaaaarely fits into our apartment (phew!) It’s been fun reacquainting with that dusty old painter-knowledge that’s been lying dormant in my brain (mostly in-tact?) for roughly 12 years BUT… the real fun is about to begin. 😬🖌

AH! I’m so excited to finally share this one! Several months ago, Earth Treks asked me to create some promotional artwork for their brand-spanking-new gym​ in Hampden. We wanted it to have that “inclusive community” vibe that makes Baltimore so special but also mix in some climbing and adventure aspects… soooo this is what I came up with, and boy was it a doozy! I spent (at least) a good 80 hours on this piece but every minute spent painstakingly plotting out this enormous, exaggerated map of Bmore and rendering every little detail on every building and mountain was an absolute blast. Thanks to Rachael at ET for spear-heading this whole collaboration and thanks to Earth Treks Hampden! Have fun trying to locate and name ALL of the Bmore icons I was able to squeeze into this illustration! Enjoy! Oh and go climb at Earth Treks Hampden! :^D
